Tesla's sales have halved in Europe, while overall demand for electric vehicles has increased by a quarter
According to the analytical company JATO Dynamics, Tesla's sales in the European electric vehicle market have decreased by half to less than 16 thousand vehicles. Meanwhile, the overall demand for electric vehicles in the region has increased by a quarter. Other automakers also showed significant sales growth.
Sales of Volkswagen electric vehicles increased by 180%, and the company sold about 20 thousand cars. BMW together with the Mini brand sold nearly 19 thousand electric cars. Chinese manufacturers, in turn, showed particular success, selling more cars than Tesla, which indicates increasing competition in the European electric transport market.
Thus, Tesla faces increasing competition in the European market, while other manufacturers successfully increase their market share of electric vehicles.
