Trump's Special Envoy Distorted the History of Nuclear Weapons in Ukraine: He Was Sharply Responded.

U.S. Special Envoy Richard Grenell stated that the nuclear weapons that were previously on the territory of Ukraine belonged to Russia. Grenell wrote about this on his Twitter.
Ukraine returned Russian nuclear weapons, and this is a fact that is uncomfortable to discuss, Grenell noted.
Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Steven Pifer claims that Grenell is mistaken. The nuclear warheads in Ukraine were Soviet, not Russian. Ukraine gave nuclear weapons back to Russia because Moscow committed to respect Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Former French Minister for European Affairs Nathalie Loiseau also confirmed that the nuclear weapons in Ukraine belonged to the Soviet Union, not Russia.
Former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger called Grenell 'a dunce in a helmet' and noted that the nuclear weapons were both Ukrainian and Russian.
U.S. President Donald Trump also announced progress in negotiations with Russia and Ukraine regarding a ceasefire.
