Ukraine detained a spy who was gathering intelligence on the Navy of Ukraine
The military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB spy who attempted to obtain information about the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Black Sea. This information was announced by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
An FSB agent was detained, who was gathering intelligence on the basing points and movement routes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ships near the Odesa seaport. The occupiers planned to use this data to prepare combat operations in the maritime zone using cruise missiles and kamikaze drones
According to the report, the agent was tasked with identifying anti-aircraft missile systems and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces to avoid Ukrainian air defense. He photographed military facilities and recorded their locations on his phone to collect intelligence data. He sent the information to his Russian curator via messenger.
During a search of the detainee's residence, a mobile phone and a computer were found, which the spy used to communicate with the FSB.
The offender turned out to be a 37-year-old resident of Odesa, who was unemployed and looking for income on Telegram channels. He has been charged with state treason committed during martial law.
The detainee is being held in custody without the right to bail and could face life imprisonment with property confiscation.
Recently, a group of Russian special services agents was uncovered, which intended to carry out terrorist acts in the Odesa region. The offenders planned to set fire to the cars of officials, and when the police arrived, they would detonate a bomb.
