The intelligence noted that Hrytsai was born in Poltava and lived in Berdiansk. He headed the local branch of the 'Socialist Ukraine' party. After the occupation of the city in 2022, he began collaborating with Russian invaders and held leading positions in the occupied administration.

'Hrytsai was involved in war crimes, terrorized the local population, handed over Ukrainians to the Russians, and participated in the establishment of torture chambers in the territory of Berdiansk,'

Mikhail Hrytsai was notified of suspicion in a criminal proceeding under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason) back in April 2022.
