Possible Meeting Between Zelensky and Putin in Istanbul: Trump Announced Unexpected Move.

Trump Considers Attending Ukraine-Russia Meeting
U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his intention to personally attend the meeting between Ukraine and Russia scheduled for May 15 in Istanbul. He emphasized that this meeting is very important and could yield positive results.
'I was thinking about flying to Istanbul. It's possible if I feel that things are truly moving forward. We could get good results from this meeting. I believe both leaders will be there,' said Trump.
Trump expressed hope for a ceasefire between the conflicting parties. He also voiced confidence that Russia would agree to a 30-day truce and highlighted the importance of the meeting for the peace process.
Currently, direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are planned in Istanbul, with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Ukraine has expressed its readiness for a long-term ceasefire, but Russia insists on starting peace talks without a prior truce.
Thus, Trump's initiative to participate in the meeting reflects his interest in resolving the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, as well as support for a possible 30-day truce.
