American soldiers went missing during exercises in Lithuania near the border with Belarus. This information was reported by the US Army in Europe and Africa.
The incident occurred at a training ground near the city of Pabrade.
The missing soldiers are members of the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division of the United States. Search operations are currently underway, involving the US Army, the Lithuanian Armed Forces, and Lithuanian law enforcement agencies.
Local media Delfi and LRT reported that the servicemen may be dead. According to these outlets, they were traveling in an M88 recovery vehicle, which also went missing.
The commander of the US Army's V Corps, Lieutenant General Charles Costanza, thanked the Lithuanian military for their assistance in the search: «This teamwork and support is a significant example of our partnership and humanity, regardless of the flags we wear on our shoulders».
