Servicemen can take vacation abroad: who will not be allowed.

Armed Forces servicemen can obtain the right to vacation abroad even during martial law, but the process of obtaining such permission is individual and depends on many factors. This was reported by OBOZ.UA with reference to comments from military experts and servicemen.
According to the source, military personnel are entitled to 30 days of main vacation per year, which can be divided into two parts of 15 days each. Additionally, two days are provided for the journey there and back, resulting in two parts of 19 days each. Furthermore, they can receive leave for family reasons or other valid reasons for up to 10 days.
Ukrainian servicemen have the right to vacation abroad.
To arrange vacation abroad, a serviceman needs a set of documents, which includes a passport, military ID, leave ticket with foreign leave, and an order for the leave and permission to go abroad.
However, not all servicemen can get permission for vacation abroad. The decision depends on the moral qualities of the serviceman and the trust of the command.
"If a soldier is intoxicated, has been noticed for unauthorized departure from the unit, who will take responsibility for letting him go abroad?" explains Senior Lieutenant of the AFU, Vyacheslav Konovalov.
According to military analyst Yevhen Dykyi, if a serviceman does not return from vacation abroad, his return may be complicated due to the possibility of political asylum in European countries.
"If you go and do not return, it is considered unauthorized departure from the unit, and then it is qualified as desertion, a criminal case is initiated," explains Dykyi.
However, cases of not returning from foreign vacations are rare, as this could negatively impact the ability of other servicemen to obtain such permission in the future.
