The first meeting of the working group to develop the State Housing Policy Strategy took place in Ukraine, as reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of the country.

'Today, more than 2 million households have been damaged or destroyed - this is 13% of the entire housing stock of the country. There are over 4.6 million internally displaced persons in the country. Hundreds of thousands of families have lost their homes completely. That is why housing policy needs to change its focus. We need to create a system. An open, honest, balanced field where everyone - youth, military, families with children, veterans, IDPs - understands what opportunities exist, how to take advantage of them, and what the state guarantees,' the statement said.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba noted that the goal of the Strategy is to ensure housing accessibility, the state's participation in solving housing issues, the development of local authorities, and the involvement of international partners.

The main tasks of the Strategy include the development of the rental market, state participation in housing issues, increasing the capacity of local communities, and involving international partners to create a sustainable model of housing policy.

During the first meeting of the working group, which took place in Ukraine, issues in the housing policy sphere were discussed, in particular, the instability in this matter and ways to solve problems related to the country's housing stock.
