In 2025, it is planned to strengthen measures for the protection of consumer rights and control over non-food products in Ukraine.
This was reported by the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
'The State Consumer Service has developed and agreed on a sectoral plan for state market supervision for 2025. The document requires the strengthening of control over imported products, in particular the enhancement of checks on goods entering the market through informal channels. It is also planned to improve the monitoring system and increase the effectiveness of measures to prevent dangerous products from entering the market. Special attention will be paid to the problem of 'gray' imports and smuggling of products that enter the market without proper documentation,' said Deputy Head of the State Consumer Service Andriy Kreitor.
During the development of the sectoral market supervision plan for 2025, an integrated approach is used. This project takes into account:
- types of products that have increased risks;
- results of monitoring restrictive measures;
- analysis of information on products that pose serious risks;
- information from the international product notification system 'RAPEX';
- results of monitoring consumer complaints, incidents, and cases of harm to human health caused by the use of products;
comprehensive analysis of the results of the work of the territorial bodies of the State Consumer Service for 2023-2024.
