Can Ukrainians have multiple citizenships? The parliament is preparing to pass a draft law.

Adoption of the Law on Dual Citizenship in Ukraine
A draft law is being prepared in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine that is intended to allow Ukrainians to hold dual citizenship. According to the main content of the draft law, a citizen of Ukraine can acquire a second citizenship only in countries included in a list approved by the state. Changes in legislation regarding the acquisition and loss of Ukrainian citizenship are also provided for.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov stated that the consideration of the draft law is scheduled for June 18 and it is expected to be adopted by the end of the month. It should also be noted that a citizen of Ukraine will lose their Ukrainian citizenship only in the case of acquiring the citizenship of a country not included in the approved list, and only when voluntarily acquiring a new citizenship.
The legislation will allow authorities to establish a list of countries whose citizens may have dual citizenship. This will facilitate the acquisition of citizenship from EU countries, G7, and NATO. Currently, Ukraine does not recognize dual citizenship. The draft law has been developed with the goal of streamlining the procedures for acquiring a second citizenship and addressing issues related to this area.
Conclusion: Ukraine is preparing to adopt a law that will allow citizens to hold two citizenships, including in countries of the European Union, G7, and NATO. This will simplify the process of acquiring a second citizenship and clarify issues related to this area.
