According to Russian media, the fire was caused by the ignition of fuel oil.
Local residents who witnessed the 'smoke' filmed it and are trying to determine the exact location of the fire at the airport.
Recall that on April 10, the oil refinery of Rosneft in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, which is the main fuel supplier for the Far East region, suffered a fire.
Also, on the night of April 8 to 9, some regions of Russia were attacked by drones. Explosions occurred in the Saratov, Krasnodar, and Rostov regions, as well as in areas from where Russians regularly launch 'Shahed' kamikaze drones into Ukraine. This was reported by GLAVKOM, citing Russian Telegram channels.
In the city of Engels, Saratov region, where one of Russia's main airbases is located, local residents reported at least five explosions. The airbase was likely attacked again, as it has been shelled multiple times before.
Earlier, drones attacked cities in Russia, including Kaluga, Saratov, and Volgograd. The Saratov region is an important area in Russia's gas transportation system.
There has been information that drones attacked the gas pipeline management of the Petrovsk Linear Production Management.
