The General Staff commented on the attempts of the Russian Armed Forces to break through in Sumy region.

Russian troops continue to storm a settlement near the border with the Russian Federation
In the area of the village of Novenke, located near the border with Russia, assault actions by Russian troops are ongoing. This was reported by Dmytro Lykhoviy, spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, on February 25, the enemy attempted to storm the border using up to two mechanized platoons. The Russian troops managed to cross the border, but Ukrainian defenders stopped them and pushed them back into Russian territory. At the same Time, Russian troops continue to make attempts to storm Ukrainian territory, using infantry groups.
According to Lykhoviy, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are doing everything possible to avoid cutting off Ukrainian logistics in the combat zone. The conflict in the area is ongoing.
It was previously reported about attempts by Russian troops to storm positions along the border in the Sumy region, but the Ukrainian army successfully repelled the attacks.
Military experts believe that the reason for the enemy's attempts to storm the border may be the expulsion of Ukrainian units from the village of Sverdlikov in the Kursk region by Russian troops and possibly North Korean forces.
It should be noted that through the village of Novenke, it is potentially possible to penetrate into the village of Yunakivka, which is an important point of the logistical corridor for the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region.
