A passenger plane crashed in Brazil: no one survived.


As a result of the crash of a small aircraft in the center of Gramado in southern Brazil, nine people have died. This was reported by DW.
«Civil defense confirmed nine dead, no one on board the plane survived», - noted the director of the civil police department of the state of Rio Grande do Sul Kleber dos Santos Lima.
At least 15 people were taken to the hospital, most of them due to smoke inhalation from a fire caused by the crash.
The plane touched a chimney of a house, then crashed into the second floor and fell onto a furniture store.
At the crash site, debris is burning, which is clearly visible in videos published by local media.
According to the fire department, the plane took off from Canela airport, located near Gramado, and was flying to Florianopolis, a popular tourist destination during Christmas.
Gramado is known in southern Brazil for its German architecture and mountain landscapes.
