The Third Gas Bill: How Much Ukrainians Will Have to Pay in 2025.

Starting from the beginning of autumn 2024, residents of apartment buildings in Ukraine will receive a new bill for the technical maintenance of gas supply systems inside the buildings. This bill is additional to the existing payments for the consumed gas and its distribution.
According to the order of the Ministry of Energy No. 292 dated 29.09.2023, gas distribution network operators are required to inspect the gas pipelines in multi-storey buildings to check their tightness and integrity.
Currently, more than 10 thousand buildings have been inspected, and over 107 thousand gas leaks have been identified and eliminated. The owners of these buildings received corresponding bills for the work performed.
The frequency of inspections and payments depends on the age of the gas networks. If the networks are more than 25 years old, maintenance is conducted every three years. If the networks are younger than 25 years, maintenance is conducted every five years.
The payment amount is calculated separately for each building and depends on the length of the communal gas networks, the number of coupling connections, and valves. The total cost is distributed among all residents of the building.
Information regarding the estimated cost of maintenance for 2024 and the schedule of works can be found on the websites of local branches of the 'Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine' company in the section 'Technical Maintenance of Gas Supply Systems'.
