Agricultural Trade Between Ukraine and the EU Increased Despite the War - IAE.

The volume of agricultural trade between Ukraine and the EU reached a record level
The volume of mutual trade between Ukraine and the European Union in agricultural products in 2024 amounted to over 17 billion US dollars. This is the highest figure since the signing of the Association Agreement and exceeds last year's record by 3%.
The balance for Ukraine was about 9 billion US dollars, reported Mykola Puhachov, Deputy Director of the National Scientific Center 'Institute of Agrarian Economics' and an academician of NAAS.
The largest partners of Ukraine in the EU are Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Romania, France, and Belgium, which account for 80% of the total trade turnover in agri-food products.
Ukraine imported agricultural products from the EU worth about 4006 million US dollars, which is 9% more than a year ago.
The structure of imports of products to Ukraine from the EU is still not as clear as in exports. However, several groups of goods can be highlighted:
In 2024, Ukraine spent the most on purchasing from the EU beverages, food products, extracts and concentrates, tobacco products, animal feed products, residues and waste, as well as cocoa and chocolate products.
7% of domestic imports from the EU in 2024 consisted of dairy products. In particular, various types of cheese were purchased for a total of 225 million US dollars.
The most popular grain products in the Ukrainian market are ready-made grain products, which cost 258 million US dollars.
All the mentioned groups of products together account for 61% of the value of food imports from the European Union.
The European Union continues to be the main supplier of agri-food products for Ukraine, providing our domestic market with a variety of products produced by member countries.
