Switzerland provides Ukraine with a winter aid package of 48 million euros: what the funds will be used for.


Switzerland allocates 45 million Swiss francs (48 million euros) to Ukraine for assistance during the winter period
The Swiss government has announced a new aid package for Ukraine during the winter period amounting to 45 million Swiss francs. These funds will be used to restore energy infrastructure, repair housing, and meet humanitarian needs. This was reported by the Federal Council of the Swiss government.
«Targeted attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure have had devastating consequences. More than half of the country's energy production has been destroyed, millions of people have been left without proper access to electricity, heating, and water,» the message states.
Ukraine is being assisted by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, as well as the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). Additionally, specialists from the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit (SHA) have arrived in Kyiv to provide technical support for the repair and commissioning of damaged generators, heat pumps, and energy systems.
Earlier, the United Kingdom announced a new military aid package for Ukraine amounting to 225 million pounds ($286 million). Also, British armed forces may be sent to Ukraine for training exercises.
