The court in Ukraine sentenced the head of Bashkortostan and the mayor of Ufa for financing the Russian army.

The head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radik Khabirov, and the head of the city administration of Ufa, Ratmir Mavliev, received sentences for financing actions aimed at changing the borders of Ukrainian territory. They were sentenced to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Prosecutors proved that the defendants, since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, helped finance the needs of Russian troops in the occupied territories. They used their political influence and administrative resources to purchase military equipment, supplies, protective gear, medications, food, and building materials for the Russian army. The leaders of Bashkortostan also provided support to the 'humanitarian convoys' of the participants of the 'Separatist Volunteer Organization' (SVO).
