Stoltenberg: The decision on Ukraine's use of long-range weapons against the Russian Federation is made by each ally separately.

NATO supports the possibility of Ukraine using long-range missiles for strikes against Russia
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed support for discussions on the possibility of Ukraine using long-range missiles to strike Russian territory. However, he emphasized that the final decision on this matter should be made by each allied state separately, Reuters reports.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly requested partners to grant permission for the use of American ATACMS missiles and British Storm Shadows for strikes on Russian territory. Last week, this issue was discussed during a meeting between UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Joe Biden in Washington, although no specific decisions were announced following the talks.
Stoltenberg noted: "I welcome these events and these decisions, but the final decisions should be made by individual allies. Allies have different policies on this issue".
In response to the statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin that such a move would mean the West entering the war, NATO Secretary General highlighted the lack of risk-free options, adding: "But I still believe that the greatest risk for us, for the United Kingdom, for NATO will arise in case of President Putin's victory in Ukraine".
This issue is expected to be discussed at the UN General Assembly next week, where Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to speak on September 25.
