How many percent of Ukrainians are willing to endure the war as long as necessary? KISI Survey.

The willingness of Ukrainians to endure the war is decreasing - survey
The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KISI) conducted a public opinion survey 'Omnibus' from December 2 to 17, 2024. The Institute of Sociology published the results of the survey, adding a question about how long Ukrainians are willing to bear the burden of war.
According to the survey results, about 71-73% of Ukrainians responded that they are willing to endure the war as long as necessary. Another 2-3% indicated that they could endure the war for 1 year. The share of those willing to endure the war for several months to half a year was 18-21%. However, from February to October 2024, this figure decreased to 63%. From October to December, there was a further decline to 57%.
According to the Institute of Sociology, we are witnessing an increase in uncertainty between October and December 2024 instead of a decrease in the resilience of Ukrainians. The decrease in willingness to endure the war is a troubling trend that requires the attention of the authorities and society. It is important to consider that the willingness to endure does not depend on socio-economic conditions but is determined by other factors.
Despite negative forecasts, Ukrainians have demonstrated resilience and the will to continue fighting as of December 2024.
The survey was conducted among adult citizens of Ukraine residing in territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. Residents of temporarily uncontrolled territories and citizens who left for abroad after February 24, 2022, were not included in the sample.
