Russian troops attacked a civilian freight train in Ukraine
On the morning of May 12, Russian troops attacked a civilian freight train in the Donetsk region with a drone, reports 'Glavkom'. 'Ukrzaliznytsia' noted that the enemy struck the train's locomotive, resulting in the train driver's injury. His life is not in danger, as he was promptly assisted and hospitalized.
Company representatives emphasized that despite the risks of working near the front, 'Ukrzaliznytsia' drivers continue their work in bulletproof vests and helmets, ready to assist and take on responsibility. Following this attack, train operations were not halted.
«For several previous days, the enemy refrained from launching drones, likely due to the so-called «truce’ to honor May 9. At the same Time, combat actions at the frontline did not cease, and border areas were shelled», - the news stated.
Recently, a fire broke out in a train car heading to Kyiv. A railway worker died, but there were no injuries among passengers. The causes of the fire are being investigated, and the train continues to operate without four detached cars.
Attacks on civilian transport pose a great threat to the safety of the population. Such incidents once again highlight the importance of ending military actions and resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.
