Reuters compared key 'peace initiatives' of the USA and Russia.

Discrepancies in proposals: Russia vs USA
The news agency Reuters analyzed the proposals of Russia and the United States regarding the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine. According to information from meetings in Istanbul, the Russian side presented demands that differ significantly from the American version of the agreement.
The Russian side demands international recognition of the occupation of Crimea and four Ukrainian regions - Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia
Russia insists on the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from certain regions as a condition for a ceasefire, while the American proposal does not contain such a demand. Furthermore, Russia offers Ukraine the status of a neutral state without the right to possess weapons of mass destruction, which is not taken into account in the American version.
'In addition, the Russian draft contains a clause on the refusal of all parties to seek compensation for damages caused by the war,' explained one of the sources.
The USA proposes an agreement that envisions Ukraine receiving compensation for damages caused by the conflict. The discrepancies in approaches may complicate the achievement of a peaceful resolution in the conflict zone.
