The Czech Republic plans to supply Ukraine with ammunition until 2026

The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, stated that the Czech Republic will continue supplying ammunition to Ukraine until 2026 due to uncertainty about the end of the war this year. This news was reported by the publication 'Glavkom'.

According to Pavel, if peace in Ukraine is established earlier, the supply of ammunition will continue to replenish military stocks.

«I am convinced that the artillery initiative, the ability to supply a sufficient number of ammunition to Ukraine, is one of the conditions that will force Russia to realize that there is no point in continuing this war», said Petr Pavel.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that by the end of this year, Ukraine expects to receive 1.8 million artillery shells.

It is worth noting that the Czech Republic announced its initiative to purchase artillery shells for Ukraine in April 2024. The total number of ammunition that the Czech Republic should acquire is 800,000 units.

Moreover, it is important to mention that the Ukrainian company 'Ukrainian Armored Vehicles' will begin cooperation with the Czech weapons manufacturer Czechoslovak Group (CSG) for the production of 155 millimeter caliber artillery shells in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Czech Republic, Denmark, and the Netherlands agreed to continue the program for the purchase of large caliber ammunition for Ukraine in 2025.

Analysis:

The Czech Republic's decision to continue supplying ammunition to Ukraine until 2026 indicates support for its fight against Russia. This is evidence that the Czech Republic prefers a peaceful resolution of the conflict and seeks to ensure the necessary resources for the Ukrainian army. Such a decision may have a positive impact on the stability of the situation in eastern Ukraine.
