The fall of Assad's regime in Syria will change the attitudes of Arab leaders towards the Russian Federation - expert.

The fall of Bashar Assad's regime and its consequences
Igor Semivolos, director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, made the statement about the fall of Bashar Assad's regime in Syria on the FREEДOM channel's program. He noted that this event will not only affect the political situation in the Middle East but will also significantly impact Russia's relations with Arab countries, particularly Iran.
'Syria was an important point for Russia, which sought to increase its influence in Africa and the Middle East. This has been ongoing since the times of the Soviet Union. Syria was Moscow's last post in the region after the collapse of the Union. Obviously, the fall of Bashar Assad's regime becomes a dramatic event for Russia.'- quotes Igor Semivolos' press service.
According to him, the fall of Assad's regime will lead to serious geopolitical changes. Russia will no longer be able to maintain its regime and will not be able to expand its presence in the region.
Igor Semivolos also added: 'Therefore, it is expected that Arab leaders will change their geopolitical positions towards Russia. Additionally, this will lead to a deterioration in relations between Iran and Russia. After the capture of Aleppo by Russian and Iranian troops, the Russians tried to present this as their victory, which enraged the Iranians. It is now difficult to say whom Russia will blame in this situation. However, this proves that if you hope for benefits without necessary resources, sooner or later you will lose both. And this has happened in Syria. And this is probably not Russia's last geopolitical failure in the Middle East.' - emphasized Igor Semivolos.
