Shooting near the Jewish Museum in Washington

On the evening of Wednesday, May 21, two staff members of the Israeli embassy were shot and killed near an event at the Jewish Museum in Washington. Law enforcement has already detained a suspect. This is reported by Reuters.

It is noted that a man and a woman were killed in the northwest part of Washington, near the museum. Also nearby are the regional FBI office and the office of the U.S. Attorney.

The incident has already drawn a response from U.S. President Donald Trump, who expressed a negative attitude toward anti-Semitism. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also condemned the murder. The incident has provoked outrage from Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon.

We have already seen instances of anti-Semitic violence in Europe, such as when fans of the Israeli football team Maccabi Tel Aviv were attacked in Amsterdam. These attacks have also been condemned and pose a serious threat to international security.
