The Ukrainian military journalist died at the front
On January 12, it became known that Ivan Sirko's fighter of the 92nd separate assault brigade and military journalist Ruslan Hanuschak, known as Ostap, died in combat. This information was reported by the spokesperson of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional territorial center for recruitment and social support Natalia Kotskovych, who also worked with Hanuschak in the press service of the Azov regiment since 2014.
Kotskovych shared: 'We filmed the best shots and short films from Shyrokyne, Granitne, Berdyansk, Lebedynske, Maryinka together. In our stories, we talked about all the crimes of Russia in Donbas. Hanuschak was incredible!'
Ruslan Hanuschak was an active participant in the Maidan and the Revolution of Dignity. In 2014, he decided to voluntarily help the Azov battalion and joined the Spilno.TV filming group. He was also the director of the documentary film 'Two Days in Ilovaisk', which tells about the Ilovaisk kettle, and the author of the film 'Brother for Brother', which tells about Georgian volunteers and was shown in various countries around the world.
Ostap joined the 92nd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after the Russian invasion in 2022, wishing to protect his country. An exhibition of his photos from the war took place in Ivano-Frankivsk, but he did not live to see his 55th birthday, which was to be celebrated in April.
Ruslan Hanuschak's family has not yet received official confirmation of his death. It is also worth noting that a Ukrainian athlete and karate coach Oleksandr Semenyuk, a professional climber and public figure from Luhansk Maksym Petrenko, and a master of sports in powerlifting and champion of Ukraine and Europe Andrii Mazanovych also died at the front.
