The Ministry of Defense is testing an innovative control point for UAV units.


The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and a Ukrainian manufacturer have started testing a new control point for units equipped with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
According to the requirements of the Ministry of Defense, the control point must be as autonomous as possible, equipped with modern communication tools and electronic warfare (EW) assets. This new technology should provide control of UAV units regardless of weather conditions, both in stationary conditions and during movement. The cabin of the control point is equipped with automated workplaces with an interactive panel. This will allow the commander to quickly analyze the situation and make operational decisions during the management of units, which will increase the effectiveness of their use.
The basis for this innovative solution is a specialized all-terrain vehicle. The all-wheel-drive vehicle is designed to ensure the maneuverability and movement of the control point in off-road conditions.
The Main Department of Defense Innovations of the Ministry of Defense accompanies the implementation of the project at all its stages.
'Unmanned units are significantly increasing and require specialized combat management tools. Domestic manufacturers have proposed a technical solution to this request. The new technology will be tested and evaluated by combat unit commanders. If it meets the requirements - we will codify it and begin serial production. We have a technological advantage over the enemy,' said the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.
