A Million Hryvnias Is Not for Everyone: Who Cannot Sign the '18-24' Contract.

The government restricts the ability to sign the '18-24 Contract', which provides for the payment of one million hryvnias. This is an experimental project aimed at increasing motivation to serve in the military during martial law. However, not everyone can take advantage of this.
Foreigners, individuals with officer ranks, and those unfit for service cannot sign the contract and receive financial assistance. The contract is only available to Ukrainian citizens aged 18 to 25 who have passed the military-medical commission and are deemed fit for service.
It is also noted that servicemen aged 18-24 who are already in service cannot sign the contract. However, they can receive a one-Time payment of one million hryvnias under certain conditions.
To receive the full amount of money, one must have participated in hostilities for at least six months. If the term was shorter but the serviceman was injured or captured, they also have the right to receive the full payment.
In particular, an officer may receive payment if, at the time of performing a combat mission, they held the rank of private or sergeant. Also, conscripts who signed a contract during martial law or were mobilized can receive financial assistance.
Under the '18-24 Contract', the payment of one million hryvnias is made in three stages. Additionally, military personnel receive monthly financial support and additional payments for participation in combat operations.
This project is an important step in enhancing the motivation of young citizens of Ukraine to serve in the Armed Forces and military units.
