Medical certificates for drivers will become digital: what will change

Ukraine is preparing for changes in the medical control system for drivers, which involve transitioning from paper certificates to digital ones.

The leader of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health Care, Mykhailo Radutskyi, explained that the bills on entering the results of medical examinations into the electronic system have received support from the committee. This will simplify the procedure and prevent abuse.

Currently, all drivers, including professionals and ordinary car owners, must undergo medical examinations, leading to long queues at medical institutions.

According to the new rules, ordinary drivers will only need to undergo an examination by a family doctor, while professionals will be referred to specialists only when necessary. Medical examinations will remain mandatory for professionals, but with relaxations; for instance, consultation with a psychiatrist will not be mandatory in all cases.

The final decision on the changes will be made after voting in parliament. This initiative will become part of the digital transformation of state services in Ukraine, helping to reduce queues in medical institutions and saving Time for both drivers and medical staff.

Changes in the medical control system for drivers in Ukraine involve moving to a digital form of certificates, simplifying the process of obtaining medical certificates and improving access to medical examinations for all drivers.
