Prison Master - How a Fraudster Deceived Odessa Residents.

A prisoner from an Odessa colony, who was sentenced to 5 years in prison for theft, deceived locals by demanding prepayment for air conditioner repairs, which he obviously had no intention of performing. The victims contacted the police - now the man faces another prison term, this Time for fraud.
This was reported by The Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region.
Details of the Case
Law enforcement established that the suspect posted an advertisement on one of the websites regarding the provision of air conditioner installation services. Citizens began to respond to the offer. In correspondence with them, the man assured that the team would arrive to perform the work as soon as a prepayment was made. People agreed to the 'master's' terms and transferred money to the account he provided, after which their numbers were blocked. In total, the offender deceived five residents of Odessa out of 19,300 hryvnias in just two days.
Not waiting for the promised service, the victims turned to the police. Law enforcement identified that the schemes were orchestrated by a 29-year-old inmate of the Odessa colony, who had been repeatedly convicted of property crimes, including theft. A mobile phone, which he used to commit unlawful activities on the advertisement platform and communicate with the victims, was seized as evidence.
What Punishment Awaits
The suspect has been informed of suspicion under part 2 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal acquisition of someone else's property by means of deception, that is, fraud committed repeatedly). He faces up to three years of imprisonment.
Recall that recently we wrote about a fraudster who was robbing military personnel. Also, about fake letters from the tax office that were sent to Odessa residents.
