Mahuchikh recognized as the best track and field athlete in Europe 2024.

Ukrainian track and field athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh became the best in Europe for 2024. She received this award at the Golden Tracks ceremony, which took place in the city of Skopje, North Macedonia.
During the season, Mahuchikh set a new world record in high jump - 2.10 meters. She also won the Olympic gold medal, the title of European champion, and the third consecutive title in the Diamond League.
In the women's nomination, Mahuchikh surpassed runner Keely Hodgkinson and Femke Bol, who were also finalists in the previous two seasons.
“This was the most successful season for me. Many dreams came true: a world record and Olympic gold for Ukraine,” Mahuchikh said.
This is already the second Time in history that a Ukrainian receives this award. In 2013, in the men's category, the victory was won by Bohdan Bondarenko, also a high jumper, who at that time became the world champion.
According to the season results, Mahuchikh may also become the best track and field athlete in the world in non-running disciplines. The finalists will be determined at the beginning of November.
Among Mahuchikh's competitors will be:
- Valarie Allman (USA), Olympic champion in discus throw;
- Tara Davis-Woodhall (USA), Olympic and world champion in long jump;
- Nina Kennedy (Australia), Olympic champion and Diamond League winner in pole vault;
- Nafissatou Thiam (Belgium), Olympic champion in heptathlon.
Mahuchikh also spoke about her future plans. She plans to participate in two more Olympic Games - in 2032, which will be held in Australia. She wants to become a two-time Olympic champion and break the Olympic record in high jump - 2.06 meters.
