The world's most expensive Christmas tree has been unveiled in Germany. It stands three meters tall and costs 5 million dollars. This is reported by The Sun.
The tree was created by the Munich company Pro Aurum using 2,024 gold coins from the Vienna Philharmonic. The New Year tree weighs over 60 kg and is decorated with gold coins.
«The golden Christmas tree stunningly demonstrates the importance of precious metal over the years», - said Benjamin Summa, a spokesman for Pro Aurum.
The Sun claims that some consider the company’s achievement absurd, while Pro Aurum asserts that the tree symbolizes the enduring value of gold and was not created to attract potential buyers.
Recall that on Sofia Square in Kyiv, on December 6, St. Nicholas Day, the lights on the country’s main Christmas tree shone. This year it is white, and its decorations consist of over two kilometers of garlands and 2,000 turquoise ornaments. However, reactions from Ukrainians to the installation of the New Year tree in Kyiv were mixed.
