Permission for long-range strikes on Russian rear will deprive the Kremlin of "mad luxury" — expert.

Ukraine has not yet received permission for attacks in Russia, but discussion of this topic has already forced the Russians to move planes further from the border. This will reduce the number of bombings and give Ukraine Time to respond to future attacks.
This is the opinion of analyst George Barros from the American Institute for the Study of War. According to him, permission for attacks on military targets within 300 kilometers would force Russia to consider the risks of transporting troops and equipment to Ukraine.
"Only now have you started talking about the potential risk to Russia and stopping this unhealthy luxury that Russia commands. To really bring a lot of equipment and ensure an artillery ratio of 10 to 1 on the front line in Ukraine," Barros said in a comment to CNN.
In Barros' study, there were at least 200 potential targets within the range of ATACMS, including the headquarters of the Southern Military District in Rostov. But the list has not been updated since February 2022.
Matthew Seville, director of military science at the Royal United Services Institute in London, believes that ATACMS can cause serious damage to Russian radars and air defense systems. This will increase Ukraine's chances of reclaiming its territories.
