Do Norwegians Want to Befriend Russians: Survey Results.

Residents of Eastern Finnmark have become less friendly toward Russians. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by Respons Analyse for the Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research (NIBR) of OsloMet University, writes NRK.
The survey covers all of Norway. The responses from Northern Norway, particularly Eastern Finnmark, were compared with the rest of the country.
The article states that two years ago, residents of Eastern Finnmark were more positively disposed towards Russia than other Norwegians. Over two years, the situation has changed, reports the source.
In particular, in Eastern Finnmark and Northern Norway, there are now more people who do not want to support cooperation at the 'people's diplomacy' level with Russia, say the study authors. Additionally, residents of these regions are more skeptical about continuing cross-border cooperation at the municipal level.
Meanwhile, in Northern Norway and Eastern Finnmark, fewer people want to ban the entry of Russian ships into Norwegian ports. In southern Norway, people are slightly more open to such cooperation with Russia, - the publication states.
Researchers claim that some people in Norway still want good neighborly relations with Russia. 'But at the same Time, across the country, there is an overwhelming majority of people who believe that Russia has destroyed these relationships for future generations,' - demonstrated the survey results.
