The US State Department has announced a new approach to participating in the peace settlement of the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine. They refuse to act as mediators in the negotiations and are passing the initiative directly to Kyiv and Moscow. State Department spokeswoman, Tami Bruce, stated: 'We will certainly continue to assist and do everything we can, but we will no longer fly around the world at the first call to be mediators at meetings. This is now a matter for the two sides.' At the same Time, she emphasized that the US will not lift sanctions against Russia. President Trump does not abandon commitments regarding the peaceful settlement of the conflict, but notes that there is another part of the world that needs attention. At the same time, attention was drawn to other conflicts, particularly the relations between India and Pakistan and the situation in the Middle East. Other steps will be taken to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, as stated by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. It should also be noted that the US is preparing sanctions against Russia. Analyzing this situation, it can be said that the US views this conflict as a problem between two sides rather than an international dispute. However, despite this, they do not abandon commitments to peace settlement and do not lift sanctions against Russia.
