Ukraine Implements a New Voluntary Military Service Program
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine launched a new voluntary military service program called 'Contract 18-24' on February 11, 2025. This program is designed for young citizens aged 18 to 24 who want to become part of the Defense Forces for one year.
According to the ministry, the program includes a powerful social package and significant financial payments.
Participants in this program will receive significant financial benefits. A one-Time cash assistance of 1 million hryvnias is provided, with 200 thousand hryvnias paid immediately after signing the contract, and the remaining amount will be distributed in two parts and paid during the term of service. Additionally, participants will receive monthly payments of up to 120 thousand hryvnias and additional payments for completing combat missions.
The contract also includes a number of social guarantees for participants.
Participants of the 'Contract 18-24' program will receive a number of social guarantees, such as interest-free mortgages after the end of service, rental compensation for housing, free travel, and community benefits. Additionally, they will be provided with full medical care, including dental services.
Features of the 'Contract 18-24' Program
One of the features of this program is the ability to independently choose a military unit and specialty, as well as the right to travel abroad after one year of service. After the contract ends, participants have a guaranteed opportunity for free education in educational institutions under state quotas. Applications for participation in the program can be submitted through the 'Reserve+' portal or the official website 18-24.army.gov.ua.
