Ballistics and Hundreds of UAVs - How Many Targets Were Shot Down by Air Defense Forces of Ukraine.


On the night of Wednesday, July 16, Russian troops launched a significant attack on the territory of Ukraine. The enemy used a ballistic missile 'Iskander-M' from the temporarily occupied Crimea and about 400 strike drones of various types, including up to 255 Shahed drones.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force representatives.
How Many Targets Were Destroyed by Air Defense Forces
The military reported that the enemy's attack came from various directions, including Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), and Chauda (Crimea), with the main targets being Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.
For the defense against the cruise missile attack, air defense forces were involved, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile missile groups, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of 08:30, the Air Force reports the destruction of 198 Shahed-type strike UAVs as well as suppression or loss of communication with 145 imitation drones thanks to the actions of electronic warfare units.
One missile hit and 57 drones were recorded in 12 populated areas. Additionally, debris from the downed targets was recorded falling in two other locations.
It is noted that on July 16, Russian troops carried out one of the largest attacks with suicide drones on the Vinnytsia region.
It was also reported that on the same day, the Russian army struck an enterprise in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in one man being injured.
